Hi, I’m Hilary.

I’m a Pittsburgh-based artist working in oil and mixed media.

My background is in illustration and graphic design. I’m the illustrator of the book Same Sun Here, published by Random House, and the founder and creative behind Green Comma Media. Though I’ve always made art (I am a California State Summer School for the Arts alum), the pandemic led me back to my roots, with a focus on the physical creation of work with my hands. My process is marked by a sense of experimentation and exploration. I’m interested in unexpected moments of beauty, and in new ways of putting life in perspective.

I was selected as a Flight School Fellow through Pittsburgh Center for the Arts/ Pittsburgh Filmmakers in 2017 and am a current member of Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh Society of Artists, and Pittsburgh Society of Illustrators. I am a Radiant Hall Artist with a studio in Homewood. My work has been shown at galleries including Robert Morris Gallery, AAP Gallery, TrustArts Education Center, and Mt Lebanon Public Library.
